Cédric Simou, Cameroonian engineer and creator of the solution Cash Me. I studied in South Africa, then in Germany where I started my professional career which continued in France
In my various travels and my various meetings with young Cameroonians or even young Africans, I realized that there was a cruel lack of access to banks and the traditional services offered by banks.
This dynamic and enterprising youth is largely deprived of access to bank cards allowing them to make purchases on the Internet.
The traditional banking system requires drastic conditions and very
many documents to enable this youth to have access to a bank account and then a bank card.
It is therefore from there that I imagined with partners the CASH-ME solution that allows everyone to have an online bank card using Mobile Money accounts (MTN Money and Orange Money in Cameroon).
Solution that lifts a number of limits and provides access to online purchases of all kinds for this population that is open to the world.
And I wanted this solution to be achieved with the help of young people teams based in Cameroon, teams that have been involved in this adventure from the start.
In just a few weeks, we have already satisfied several hundreds of customers in Cameroon and we do not intend to stop there since we will soon open our services in Côte d’Ivoire and in other countries of the sub-region and enrich CASH-ME with additional functionalities.
We thus hope to bring our stone to the building and our contribution to the emergence of a more dynamic Africa that takes up the challenges ahead.
